KBLI stands for Indonesian Standard Industrial Classification. So, there is a code that can categorize the type of business you will be. If you intend to make a business license, then the first thing you should know is the grouping of the business.
The Indonesian Standard Industrial Classification (KBLI) is a reference classification used to categorize business activities or activities in Indonesia into several business fields or business fields that are distinguished based on the type of business activity that produces products or outputs in the form of both goods and services.
This KBLI will contain details of your business type. This KBLI contains a list of your business codes. Later, you will use the code to obtain a business license and NIB aka Business Identification Number.
How do you determine the right KBLI?
- Visit the official OSS website at https://oss.go.id/informasi/kbli-berbasis-risiko
- Then on your screen will appear KBLI categories from the letters A to U which are the types of KBLI based on your business class. In the same view, you can
- use the “search” feature and write the keywords of your business activities;
- After determining the correct business class according to the letter, you can select the appropriate 2-digit KBLI derivative of the business class according to the letter;
- Then, you can select the 3-digit KBLI derivative that corresponds to your business class;
- You can then select the 4-digit KBLI derivative that shows your business activity options in more detail;
- You will then find the 5-digit KBLI that matches your business activity. In this 5-digit KBLI, you can find the description and scope of business activities.
- Finally, you still have to look at the scope of the 5-digit KBLI to determine the scope of business activities that match your business activities. Because the business licensing requirements that you must fulfill are adjusted to the scope stated in the 5-digit KBLI.
This 5-digit KBLI scope contains information about:
- Scale of business
- Land area
- Risk level
- Business licenses that must be fulfilled
- Time period for business license application
- Time period of business license; certain parameters set; and
- The government is authorized to handle such business licenses.
