In addition to having economic benefits, HAKI registration is also very important for every company or business actor in business to encourage innovation, transfer and dissemination of technology, and create prosperity and balance between rights and obligations. Now, to make it easier for people to register IPR, the Directorate General of IPR of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights has prepared a registration that can be done electronically through e-copyright. Then, what is meant by e-copyright? Let’s see the full discussion below!

What is E-Copyright?

E-copyright or Electronic Copyright is a service in the form of an integrated and web-based information system managed and developed by the Directorate General of IPR to facilitate online registration of Creation records that can be accessed by the public anytime and anywhere. As already mentioned, e-copyright can be accessed by the entire community, such as:

  • Ministries and Agencies;
  • Local Government;
  • Educational Institutions;
  • Research and Development Institute;
  • Regional Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights;
  • IPR Center;
  • Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs); and
  • Other institutions.

Requirements for Registering IPR through E-Copyright

To be able to access e-copyright, you need to get a user account and password by first registering your email address, identity, and sending a filled-in Statement to email [email protected]. The Statement Letter or a copy of the E-Copyright Application Letter can be downloaded from http://www.dgip.go.id/hak-cipta/pemberitahuan-elektronik-hak-cipta. Make sure the data filled in is correct. This is because the communication of notification of approval of user account registration and notification of payment code from the e-copyright system is sent through the registered email, including the Creation Registration Letter after the application for the work has gone through the examination process first. To obtain a user account and password, you can send a Registration Application Letter for the Information System for Recording Creation and Related Rights Products/e-copyright along with a Statement Letter and other supporting attachment documents to the office of the Director General of IPR of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights.
