Shopping today is much easier and more practical. This is because there are more and more online stores. You can shop without having to come directly to the store. In addition, you can also shop through resellers if the items you need are difficult to find. Then, how exactly is the reseller business? Check out the following review.

Online Stores and Resellers that are Growing

Nowadays, online stores are increasingly mushrooming and can be easily found on various social media. The phenomenon of the proliferation of online stores is due to the development of the internet which is also increasing. Many people are starting to open online shop businesses via the internet. This is because people’s interest in shopping is increasing, making it easier for buyers to shop without having to go directly to the store. Generally, people who sell goods through this online store are individual businesses. However, there are also some online stores that already have business entities. With the development of online stores today, more and more resellers are emerging. Resellers are people who resell products that they have bought from other online stores. The reseller himself can still be said to be an online store seller. This is because many resellers also sell their merchandise via the internet. Usually resellers resell merchandise that they have bought at a higher price. This is to benefit from previous purchase transactions. The rise of more and more resellers is also due to the discount given by the online store.

Some online stores open opportunities for anyone to become a reseller of their merchandise. This opportunity is also added by the discount given by the online store seller specifically for resellers. Although not the first party as an online store seller, resellers also need a business license. There is no business regulation regarding the term reseller. However, there is another term that is almost the same as reseller and is regulated by law, namely distributor. According to MOT 11/2006, it is explained that a distributor is a business that conducts trade based on conditions when purchasing goods or services owned. Distributors can assign the goods sold according to their own name. Although the reseller has the right to change the name of its merchandise to its own name, the reseller also needs to agree on the terms regarding the price in accordance with the Standard Retail Price (SRP). If the reseller resells the merchandise below the SRP, it could potentially lead to a price war and could also damage the business image.

Trading Through Electronic Systems

Trading through electronic systems is regulated by law in Government Regulation No. 80/2019. The regulation explains that trading through electronic systems or PMSE is a trading system where the transaction process is carried out through electronic devices and procedures. This government regulation regarding trade through electronic systems aims to encourage business actors to be able to assist Government programs. The government programs that will be carried out include increasing online exports, increasing domestic trade processes and also increasing safe online shopping. In the regulations regarding trade through electronic systems, there are several principles that must be carried out by all business parties. Parties that must follow these principles include consumers, individual business actors, and also state organizing agencies. The principles include good faith, vigilance or caution, transparency, reliability, accountability, balance, and fairness. In addition, this regulation also explains that business actors must assist the government in several ways. These things are increasing competitiveness for domestically produced goods or services, prioritizing trade in domestically produced goods or services, and also providing facilities as a means of promoting domestically produced goods or services. Because resellers carry out the trading process online, resellers are also included in the category of trading through electronic systems. Therefore, resellers are also one of the business actors in the PMSE. By becoming a business actor included in the PMSE, it is very important for resellers to comply with the regulations in the PMSE. With these regulations, of course, you must have a business license if you want to become a reseller. This is so that the reseller business that you are engaged in can be guaranteed credibility by the government. In addition, trade transactions will also be safer for consumers.
